May 10, 2023 | News

The Guild Association of Antarctic Logistic Services (APAL), in collaboration with the Regional Government and the University of Magallanes, is pleased to announce the seminar “Magallanes Antarctic Region, Present and Future”. The purpose of this event is to present the Antarctic ecosystem at a national and international level, along with ongoing initiatives and projects in the Region of Magallanes and the Chilean Antarctic. This initiative aims to improve access to the white continent and stimulate future investments, especially focused on tourism development.

The main objective of this seminar is to offer a viable development alternative for the Region of Magallanes, as the Strait of Magellan, Cape Horn, Tierra del Fuego, and the Antarctic are landmarks of global relevance. It is the responsibility of the Region of Magallanes to take advantage of this growth opportunity.

Chile is the main country developing logistics in Antarctica and is collaborating internationally in the field of Antarctic science. Magallanes plays a crucial role, not only as a point of entry but also as a hub of logistics and science for what will be the continent of the future.

The seminar will feature the participation of distinguished specialists in topics related to Antarctica.

This event will take place on June 1, 2023, at the auditorium of the University of Magallanes, Ernesto Livacic.
